Delfoi Software

The work we do at SIMFACT is based on the Delfoi software portfolio and especially the groundbreaking Delfoi Arc 4. We are Delfoi VAR (Value Adding Reseller) partner in Denmark and we sell the software and provide courses alongside our service business.

Delfoi ARC 4

Delfoi ARC 4 is a parametric and feature-based offline programming software. Based on selected parameters and features, the program can effectively utilize the features of the 3D CAD model and the internal WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) database of the software. The software creates accurate, error-free and homogeneous and high-quality welding programs regardless of the robot brand or model thanks to Delfoi ARC's unique, universal robot code support.

Program generation is fast and faultless. Programming downtime shrinks substantially compared to the downtime that would normally be needed when programming a robot online by teaching.

  • Fast and easy: semi-automatic programming with user friendly user interface.
  • High quality programs: integrated quality control and WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).
  • Accurate tool paths: advanced calibration tools and trajectory management.
  • Generic: supports ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, Yaskawa Motoman, Kawasaki, Panasonic, IGM, CLOOS, Reis, Universal Robots etc.

Process features

  • 'Straight weld' wizard.
  • 'Curved weld' wizard.
  • Seam search management (1D, 2D, 3D).
  • Multi-pass welding management and automatic generation of passes.
  • Stitch welding.
  • Sharp corner welding management.
  • Automated end flare angles.
  • Copying, chaining, grouping and mirroring (for mirror symmetric work pieces) of welds.
  • Management of welding process settings and features (e.g. welding voltages, welding speeds and seam tracking).
  • WPS welding parameter database.
  • Robot configuration management.
  • Tool change management.
  • Automated, unrestricted calculation/management of all external robot axes (e.g. gantry positioners, linear tracks and multi-axis weld positioning devices).
  • Easy and fast fine adjustment of all weld paths and the robots via and moving points.
  • Versatile calibration tools to ensure extreme precision in the programming of modelled cells.

Simulation features

  • A wide-ranging component library for use in cell layout-modelling - over 1000 default robot and weld-positioner models and dozens of smart, parametric components, such as conveyor belts, light curtains and safety barriers.
  • Automatic detection of collisions and "near-miss" incidents with visual feedback.
  • Cell layout planning and fast positioning of components within a cell.
  • Review of the robot's working envelope.
  • Automatic detection of violations of axis limits with visual feedback.
  • Automatic detection of robot singularity points.
  • Fast and effective simulation of created welding programs, either in real time or set to a variable speed.
  • Option to save the simulated program in either 3D-PDF or AVI format and easily share the file with others.
  • Point Cloud support ensures direct use of 3D scan data.
  • Command of external I/O devices, e.g. using PLC logic.

Delfoi provides the customers with Delfoi Robotics solutions worldwide. The software is delivered together with professional robot system integrators like PDSI, Rolan Robotics, Severt and YHST China, and OEMs, such as Blastman Robotics, KUKA, OTC Daihen, and Yaskawa Motoman. Delfoi Robotics solutions are used in arc welding, laser welding, 3D cutting, finishing and polishing, blast cleaning and painting applications.

The benchmark winning software is used for various industries including automotive, heavy machinery, aerospace, construction steel, and ship building. Delfoi delivered the first offline programming system for the European car industry already in 1991. The customer was Valmet Automotive, which is known today as an assembly factory for Mercedes A-series cars. Besides the car industry the company has customers in heavy machinery like BAE Hagglunds, Caterpillar, CNH Industrial, John Deere, Ponsse, Valmet Paper, Sandvik, and Volvo VCE. In aircraft industry there are customers like Airbus, Boeing, Patria, and Saab. Today more than 400 industrial companies are using Delfoi Robotics applications.

Delfoi Robotics software suite utilizes proven simulation technology platform provided by Visual Components.
